Meditation
Tips
- take notes of your mood and thoughts during the day.
You may notice that you feel calmer, happier and sharper on days when you have meditated and notice a decrease in these qualities when you have not - mentally replay the events of the day at the start of your sessions in a relaxed and passive way.
Do not get emotionally involved and don’t let it “play” for too long before beginning meditation. This procedure is known as “processing” of recent events and helps to increase awareness and emotional well-being - the benefits of meditation are most noticeable when done regularly and consistently rather than sporadically
- meditate for the meditation’s own sake rather than becoming attached to the results. Don’t expect anything
- there are also benefits simply as a result of the practice, even before the practitioner has been successful in maintaining focus or clearing the mind
